1. What services
do you offer?
The Walpole Area VNA offers a variety of services
to help you remain at home while recovering from or being
treated for an illness or injury. These services include nursing,
physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical
social work, nutrition counseling and home health aides, to
assist with personal care.
We have specialists in mental health nursing and maternal
and child health nursing. We also have a certified lactation
consultant.
2. How do I know
what services I need?
Generally, a doctor will prescribe services,
tailored to your specific circumstances. If you are unsure
about what services may be required, you can call our office
at 508-668-1066 and discuss your care with a nurse or therapist.
A free initial consultation is available.
3. Will my insurance
pay for these services?
Since insurance policies vary, we will review
your insurance benefits during our first visit. The Walpole
Area VNA accepts Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, Managed Care Plans
and private health insurance plans. You may pay a fee for
services that are not covered by insurance.
4. Are all VNAs
related?
No. The term, VNA, is rather generic, standing
for Visiting Nurse Association. While most VNAs offer similar
services, each one is a separate entity. Just as banks offer
the basic general services, such as savings accounts, checking
accounts and mortgages, it is known that Bank of America is
different from Sovereign Bank or Citizens Bank.
Each VNA is unique. Be sure to ask for the Walpole Area VNA.
5. What makes
the Walpole Area VNA unique?
The Walpole Area VNA is a small, non-profit agency
that is not affiliated with a hospital or other large network.
As a result, we can be more responsive to your requests. We
do not have a waiting list. When you call the agency, a person
answers the phone and will direct your call to someone who
can help. We do not have a complicated voice mail system.
We work closely with your doctor and caregivers to develop
a treatment plan to meet your needs.
We have a dedicated and experienced staff that
lives in the communities we serve. We have received the Pinnacle
Award for Excellence in patient satisfaction from the Visiting
Nurse Association of New England. We have received this award,
consistently, since its inception, almost 10 years ago.
We have been serving the local communities since
1909.
